Recently, the O’Neill Community Foundation Fund was selected to participate in a challenge grant opportunity. The challenge is to raise $200,000 in unrestricted endowment funds. Once achieved, The Sherwood Foundation will grant the Fund an additional $100,000. The campaign will build the community’s unrestricted permanent endowment, helping to ensure quality of life in the community for generations to come.
Funding Our Future Today & Tomorrow, the unrestricted endowment campaign, kicked off the public phase of their campaign on Wednesday, November 1, with a “30 Days of Thanksgiving” Dinner. Thanks to generous donors and supporters, 91 percent of the $200,000 goal has been reached!
The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund, an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, is a charitable organization working to improve the quality of life and create opportunities for prosperity in O’Neill. The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund was formed in 1998 as an avenue for individuals, groups and businesses to “give back” to O’Neill and receive charitable giving tax deductions. The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund Endowment has provided over $80,028 to support 69 local projects to date.
